Melanie Archer
Hi! My name is Melanie Archer. I graduated from the Alberta College of Art + Design (now Alberta University of the Arts) with honours in 2014. After working under Shona Rae at The Blackboard Gallery for three years I established my own studio in Calgary in 2020. Outside of making jewellery I am passionate about outdoor adventuring, gardening and making and eating super delicious food! I look forward to teaching my son how to make his own jewellery in the studio.

My Style
Minimalist, classic, well made and sometimes cheeky or whimsical. My jewellery is made to be loved and worn.
I primarily use sterling silver but also work in gold, brass, alternative metals and work with both precious and semi-precious stones (though I have a special love for pearls). I take extra care to make sure my designs are comfortable and safe, trying them out myself when possible before selling to the public.
Metal Allergies
I do NOT use nickle silver or metals containing nickle silver as it commonly causes allergic reactions! It is illegal to use in jewellery in Europe for that reason. If you have metal allergies, talk to me about possible alternatives.
